Ieperfest News Update 21 August 2007

Salve kids!! Ieperfest edition #15 is coming closer and closer! The weather forecasts for the weekend sound really promising: dry weather with temperatures of around 21-25°C max, wooow!!

Pre-sale is still going and we’re soooo happy with the huuuge amount of tickets sold so far!! No need to hesitate if you still wanna get your ticket at the pre-sale price. Online pre-sale: 21/8 is the last day for Belgian customers to pay via bank wire. We will accept paypal & credit card payment for both Belgian & foreign visitors until Thu 23 August 18.00 local time. Go!

Recently added to the website: info on other events happening in the area during Ieperfest as well as info for disabled visitors of the fest. More fine-tuning and updating daily!

Check the flyers for the pre-fest on Thursday and the informative side-program that we’re organising, surely also the best one we ever had.

Ieperfest News Update 16 August 2007

We have been updating the website constantly the last couple of days. Band info texts, schedule, “hardcore more than music “, info on the NGOs present, food and drinks, garbage, etc were all added or updated! Expect new/adapted info on a daily basis from now on till the day the fest will start!

Some people have been asking about parking in Ieper so we added a link to a map with all parking lots on the “Route” page.
Many of you are also wondering what’s up with the camping site. Yes, there will be decent toilets and showers and yes it is dead close to the actual festival site so no need to worry!!
Pre-sale through Belgian stores and online via the Pyrrhus webstore is still going. See elsewhere on the site for more info!!

Ieperfest News Update 11 August 2007

Pre-sale is going really well, so thanks to the numerous amount of you who have been buying/ordering tickets already! If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, now is the time to order/buy them. Pre-sale tickets that have been ordered online (and paid for!!) can also be picked up at the entrance. Just tell us you want to do so. You will be asked to print the confirmation and show it at the entrance together with your ID!

4 bands have cancelled their Ieperfest appearance as they decided not to come on tour: AGE OF RUIN, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, CULT OF LUNA and WISDOM IN CHAINS. Impossible to replace touring bands at this time by other equally cool touring acts. We did our best to book 4 really cool replacements:
ABORTED B Straight-forward death metal/grind band back for their 2nd Ieperfest performance. Released their 5th full-length on Century Media rcs just a few months ago.
EYE OF JUDGEMENT NL Vegan straight-edge HC influenced by INTEGRITY, EARTH CRISIS & CROWBAR. Toured the US in 2006. New Eden rcs.
RISE AND FALL B Europe's hardest working HC act with an exclusive domestic release show for their brand new 7" on Deathwish Inc.
VICTIMS S Stockholm crustpunk/hardcore influenced by bands like DISCHARGE, MOTÖRHEAD, ANTI-CIMEX and SICK OF IT ALL!! Havoc rcs.

Ieperfest News Update 4 July 2007

*It’s been ages since the last update, apologies for that! Here’s a HUGE update though. 14 more names were added to the bill, but unfortunately there are also 5 cancellations. The RUINER tour got postponed until September. Also SHOWBREAD & NUEVA ETICA decided to come at a later date. The LOST PATROL BAND appeared to have other obligations and misunderstandings between band, booker & organiser could not be solved so no MAROON at Ieperfest 2007 either. Too bad, but the 2007 bill is still the best we ever had, especially with the addition of these fantastic bands:

*Ticket prices for this year’s festival will be:
Weekend >> pre-sale: 45 euro // at the door: 54 euro
Day >> pre-sale: 20 euro // at the door: 24 euro

*Recently people have been inquiring about accommodation in Ieper. Have a look at this link for more info. Other persons were asking for the closest airports to fly into. Ostend (Belgian coast), Charleroi ("Brussels South"), Brussels Zaventem & Lille (in France, but dead close from Ieper) are the best options.

*The following bands will play the pre-fest on Thu 23/8 at 19.00 @ JOC, Ieper: DEMON SQUAD, MANS RUIN, COLLAPSED, ALL MY SINS & the BOSS. All of them are promising H8000 acts who deserve to be heard. Can’t think of a better way to get warmed up for the actual festival!!

*Hardcore, more than just music! 2 workshops/events planned so far:
-> Sat 25.8: "Global Veggie War'N'ing". You are what you eat. Speakers, movies & interactive discussions concerning the 'footprint' we put on this world by our (well thought-out) eating habits. What ‘s the link between vegetarianism/veganism, global warming and this ‘footprint’? Come out & learn!
-> Sun 26.8: "No war... a 'peace' of cake?". 90 years ago the Ieper area was the décor of one of the most ferocious conflicts on earth: the first World. 'No more war', became the most cheered catch-cry. How is the situation today and above all: what can we do? A few local organisations will explain what their goal is regarding this subject. Come, listen and speak your mind: your opinion is considered!

*Last but not least, we plan to organise the very first Ieperfest Winter edition at the Fenix venue next to the Ieperfest Summer festival ground. Sat 9 February 2008, ink down that date in your agenda now! More news following shortly!

Ieperfest News Update 26 April 2007

11 more names to be added to this year’s Ieperfest bill. That means 37 bands fully confirmed so far, woohoo!! We’re really happy to have these bands participating in this year’s 15th anniversary edition:

The first bunch of flyers/posters are ready!! For those of you present at Groezrock this weekend, make sure to drop by at the Genet distro spot & grab one of those nifty-looking flyers!

Pre-sale will start by the end of May. The exact ticket price will be announced here in the next few weeks.

Ieperfest News Update 20 March 2007

We are utterly thrilled to announce the first list for Ieperfest 2007!! No less than 26 (!!) bands have confirmed their presence so far. What you see below is the result of weeks/months of hard work so we hope you enjoy the result till date. As always we try to offer a wide range of different sorts of bands and for this 15th anniversary edition, we did our very best to book a few great names. More crazy kick-ass bands to be announced in the next weeks & months, so stay tuned!!

We have a huge list of bands that wanna play the fest and there is no need to contact us on that matter. We have a good idea of the bands we wanna book. The harder you work for your band, the bigger the chance is that you will make it to the Ieperfest bill some day. Thank you.
