Just one more week to go until Ieperfest 19 kicks off. We are all really busy in order to make everything run smoothly next weekend. Here’s the latest news we want to share with you.

As said before, the Ieperfest camping opens on Thursday 11 August around 6pm. Please click the “Lodging” tab to read through our camping rules. We would appreciate it if you stick to these rules.

When finished picking a spot and setting up your tent, you can go to the brand new JOC “’t Perron” near the Ieper railway station and attend the pre-fest show. A small entrance fee of 5 Euro will be charged. All profits go to the renewal of the Vort’n Vis. These 4 promising Belgian acts will be hitting the stage on Thursday night:
GET WISE: Socially engaged hardcore four-piece, around since mid 2009. 7 song demo released on Open Up Rcs. in October 2010.
GRIZZLYNCHER: Stoner/southern rock/(post)hardcore/sludge… hard to put a label on this 4-piece from Bruges. Still unsigned, putting out a self-released album late August 2011.
HESSIAN: Kortrijk/Gent based punkmetal four-piece featuring current and ex-members of KINGDOM, THE BLACK HEART REBELLION, LOSING STREAK and BLACK HAVEN.
ONE STEP BEYOND: Ypres/Zonnebeke locals. Old school hardcore five-piece destined to have a party with every single one of you.

A pretty decent and very varied line-up if you ask us. Doors will open at 19h30, first band (GRIZZLYNCHER) hits the stage at 20h00. Come out and support these bands and support the Vort’n Vis.

Unlike last year, the Ieperfest 2011 food will be prepared by the infamous Ferm & Fameus crew. These are the same people that have nourished you on all past editions of Ieperfest winter edition. Please click the “Food” tab to see what they will be preparing for you over the weekend.

As you all know, we won last year’s OVAM Groenevent Award for being Flanders’ greenest festival. We are participating in this year’s competition as well, and have added some more features to our already extensive green policy. Please click the “Garbage” tab to see what’s new, and also read through the “old” stuff again just to be sure.

And even more pages have been updated recently. All band previews now available as well the huge (!!) More Than Music (MTM) progamme. Just read and arrive fully prepared at the festival next week!!

Last but not least, we are pleased to announce that a 4th edition of Ieperfest winter will be held in 2012 so save the date right away: Saturday 18 February. We can already announce one important difference in comparison to previous editions. The venue will no longer be Zaal Fenix, but this year’s pre-fest venue JOC ‘t Perron.
