Tomorrow, the fourth edition of Ieperfest winter is finally upon us! Doors of JOC ‘t Perron open around 13h00. First band, xVICIOUSx, kicks off 13h40 sharp. Be sure to come early and support them. They deserve it!

We wouldn’t want you to come all the way to Ieper unprepared, so we’d like to attract your attention to a few interesting features on our website. First of all, you’ll need to get to the venue. Simply click the “Route” tab for the venue address, and a few transportation suggestions. It speaks for itself that we would like the fest’s ecological footprint to be as small as possible. So use public transportation as much as you can. If that’s not a possibility for you, we suggest carpooling with other people coming to the fest. We’ve even set up a handy tool for that, which you’ll also find in the “Route” section!

Once you’re there, you might get hungry and thirsty. Click the “Food” tab to find out which delicious vegan snacks Ferm&Fameus will be preparing for you.

As you all already know, we insist on keeping our festivals clean and ecologically friendly. You can help us out a great deal on that matter. Want to find out how? Click the “Green Policy” tab and read all about it!

Most of you are probably heading to Ieper to check out the awesome bands we have lined up for you? Good! But please also take some time to pay a visit to the MTM-room. After all, hardcore is, and will always be, MORE THAN MUSIC! For a detailed MTM-program, simply click the “MTM” tab!

Ticket sales have been going really well. It might get crowded! If you still want to pick up a pre-sale ticket online, or in a Free Record Shop, then today is your last chance! Online and FRS pre-sale end tonight around midnight. Fnac will still be selling tickets tomorrow, if you’d like to buy one last minute. There will be plenty of tickets left at the door as well, at the fair price of €18!

Tomorrow, we’ll also be distributing the first Ieperfest 2012 (20th anniversary edition) posters and flyers. No less than 33 bands will be featured on those posters and flyers. 26 were announced two weeks ago, 7 are being announced right here and now. Ready, here goes:

CRUEL HAND (US) // Portland, Maine hardcore band drawing influences from CRO-MAGS, early METALLICA and MADBALL. They played the fest 2 years ago as well, so welcome back!
DEAN DIRG (DE) // German punk band that has been around since 2000. BLACK FLAG meets The HIVES. VOID meets The REATARDS. Get on your dancing shoes!
DEEZ NUTS (AU) // Tonight we’re gonna party like there’s no tomorrow! ‘Nuff said. Oh yes, they are from Australia and feature JJ Peters of I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN.
GRAND MAGUS (SE) // BLACK SABBATH influenced Swedish stoner-laced doom in the
early years, evolving into straight-up early ‘80s heavy metal. Bang your head!
HELLBASTARD (UK) // UK crust punk veterans, founded back in 1985. Together with those other legends AMEBIX, they might even be the founders of crust punk as a genre.
SYDNEY DUCKS (US) // San Francisco, California punk. Described by themselves as San Francisco geezers, paying homage to the sounds and the city they love! Think TEMPLARS crossed with IGNITION.
WITHDRAWAL (US) // Dirty metal infused hardcore, signed to A389 Rcs. This might have been a mid 90s H8000 band! Think CONGRESS, SEKTOR, CATHARSIS, INTEGRITY, etc. Faith, Flesh and Blood!

As of tomorrow, you will be able to purchase Early Bird weekend tickets for Ieperfest 2012 online and in your local Free Record Shop. Fnac will be selling those tickets as well, starting somewhere next week. These tickets will only cost €69! No idea yet for how long this action will be running so don’t hesitate to buy one if you wanna get in at the cheapest possible price!

More bands will be announced in the next few weeks, including more headliners. But now, it’s time to focus on Ieperfest winter. See you all tomorrow!
